Wandalee L. Gerber

Wandalee L. (Dresher) Gerber, 94, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s Eternal Care, Thursday, January 12, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side. 

Born February 15, 1928, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Florence (Hamm) Dresher.  Wandalee was the loving wife of the late Dale L. Gerber with whom she shared 73 years of marriage until his passing on April 14, 2020.  

Wandalee was a member of St. Bartholomew’s United Church, ELCA.. She worked as a housekeeper for the R. H. Shepherd family and later for the Peter Shepherd family for 64 years until her retirement at age 78.

Wandalee enjoyed camping at South Mountain Fairgrounds years ago when her daughters were young and enjoyed the family bi annual trips to Tennessee to spend time with family.

Wandalee is survived by two daughters, Deborah A. Rineman and her husband Pat, and Dee L. Schriver all of Hanover, PA; 9 grandchildren, Michelle, George, Michael, Jeremy, Jessie, Patrick, Dru, Sarah, and Kristin; and 13 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene L. Dinio; one grandson, Dalton C. Schriver, and her siblings, Russell Dresher, Dean Dresher, Richard Dresher, Charles “Bud” Dresher, Johnny Dresher, Margie (Dresher) Utz, and Miriam (Dresher) Ecker.

 A funeral service to celebrate and remember Wandalee’s life will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with her Pastor, the Rev. Steven E. Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM, Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wandalee’s name may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 984 Loucks Road, Suite 1, York, PA 17404.
