Wayne Kozak, 85, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Gardens at Gettysburg with his loving family by his side.
Born September 6, 1935, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Zamborsky) Kozak. Wayne was the loving husband of the late Shirley J. (Sears) Kozak who died June 14, 2014 and with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Wayne was a 1953 graduate of Griffith High School, Griffith, Indiana. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving his country proudly during the Korean War and earning a good conduct medal. He worked for the US Air Force and retired from the National Security Agency with over thirty-six years of service.
Wayne was a member of Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, McSherrystown, PA.
Wayne enjoyed watching Westerns, doing crossword puzzles, playing and coaching baseball and basketball, and especially spending time with family.
Wayne is survived by his four children, Nina Kozak, Stewart Kozak, Dean Kozak, and Dawn Baughman; eight grandchildren, Denise, Daniel, Amanda, Emily, Hannah, Jessica, Megan, and Ryan; eleven great-grandchildren; and three siblings. He was preceded in death by one sibling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, April 30, 2021 at Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, 26 N. Third Street, McSherrystown, PA, with Father Charles L. Persing as celebrant. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 9:00-10:45 AM, Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, followed by a processional to the church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York, PA.
