William R. “Bill” Timmins, 77, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Brinton Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sykesville, MD. 

Born June 15, 1944, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Helen (Keagy) Timmins.  Bill was the loving husband of Carol S. (Shorb) Timmins with whom he shared fifty-two years of marriage.

Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA.    He was a member of the McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, the McSherrystown Home Association, and the Hanover Home Association.

Bill served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force for four years.  He was a 1962 graduate of Delone Catholic High, and a roofing foreman for Donald B. Smith for 42 years until his retirement.

Bill loved softball and golf and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Carol, Bill is survived by his daughters, Andrea L. Raubenstine and husband Chris of Hanover, PA and Julie A. Wilson and husband Dan of Abbottstown, PA; four grandchildren, Evan and Emma Raubenstine, and Meredith and Jack Wilson; three brothers, Raymond Timmins of Hanover, PA, Michael Timmins of New Oxford, PA, and Steve Timmins of Hanover, PA; eight sisters, Dolores Burk of Hanover, PA, Rita Fox of Littlestown, PA, Helen Groft of New Oxford, PA, Barbara Zapach of Albuquerque, NM, Sally Murren of Hanover, PA, Margaret Maue of Gettysburg, PA, Katherine Sanders of Hanover, PA, and Susan Timmins of Hanover, PA.  He was preceded in death by four siblings, Edward Timmins, Patricia Feeser, Joan Miller, and Richard Timmins.

A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, July 25, 2021, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, July 26, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA with Monsignor James M. Lyons as celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard Burial Detail providing Military Honors.   

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill’s name to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157, Golden Visions, 250 Fame Avenue - Suite 125, Hanover, PA 17331, or to the Delone Development Fund, c/o Delone Catholic H.S., 140 S. Oxford Avenue, McSherrystown, PA 17344.
