William "Bill" F. Burness

William “Bill” Francis Burness (86) of Littlestown, PA died January 1, 2021 at Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Hanover PA.

Bill was born on March. 28, 1934 in Baltimore, MD, the beloved son of William & Emma (Wieber) Burness. Bill was the loving husband of Mary Rosalie “Rose” (Knauer) Burness with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Bill was a committed Maintenance Supervisor at Valspar Paint Co. for 38 years, a position he thoroughly enjoyed.  Bill was always willing to extend his electrical services to help others and he was a kind soul.

Bill was a member of Christ Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, building birdhouses, bird watching, supporting his local fire department, gardening, touring train gardens, spending holidays with his extended family, enjoyed the beach and local seafood, as well as, visiting the Eastern Shore. Bill was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Rose and his devoted children, Clare McQuay & Michael (husband) of Forest Hill, MD and Julie Aleshire & Joseph (husband) of Hampstead, MD and four grandchildren, Mikayla & Jenna McQuay and Elizabeth & Matthew Aleshire. Bill was predeceased by his dear sister, Katherine Blank.
