Dale Wilson “Fossil” Crabbs, 80, of Hanover, PA entered God’s Eternal Care, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Born November 1, 1936 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Wilson A. and Florence M. (Flickinger) Crabbs. Dale was the loving husband of Shelba J. (Nace) Crabbs with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.
Fossil was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA. He was a lifetime member of the Penn Township Fire Department where he was a Past Chief and President, he was captain of the Fire Police for 12 years, served as a constable for elections and was a member of the Irishtown Fire Company.
Dale served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1954 to 1962. He worked as a truck driver for 25 years, was an Electrician’s Helper for 5 years for Cromer Electric and retired in 2015 after 10 years as a courtesy Driver for Hanover Hospital who presented him with and Award of Distinction in 2004.
In addition to his wife, Shelba, Dale is survived by his two children, Candy Bair and husband Michael of Hanover, PA, Randy Lau and wife Isabelle of New Oxford, PA; three grandchildren, Scott M. Bair and wife Heather, Brandy L. Bair Wilson and husband Cameron, and Jason Lau and wife Erica; two great-grandchildren, Bryce W. Bair and Alecia Lau; and one sister, Anna M. Utz of Hanover, PA. He was preceded in death by one son, Tony R. Lau.
A memorial service to celebrate and remember Fossil’s life will be held 7:30 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. The family will receive friends and share memories from 6:00-7:30 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the funeral home
