Very saddened to learn of Betty's passing. She was a first and dear cousin. We, along with her sister, Bonnie, and, brothers, Bob and Johnny, grew up together, celebrated holidays in Cushing, Oklahoma at our grandparents' , Paul and Lily Prentice, home. She was my inspiration to move forward and attend college and remain independent during times of traditional teachings. I will cherish our intellectual chats and accompanying jokes. Please accept my deep condolences, love to all of you, Paula

Betty was a valued colleague at SCSU and I will miss her good sense and hard work.. She went beyond the expectations to integrate student writing instruction into her courses.

I had just met Betty once at a bridge class when one of my friends out of the blue was raving about a professor at Southern CT State University who encouraged and recommended her daughter for a job at one of the top accounting firms in the country. When she said Professor Horn, it was such a coincidence that I had just met her. After getting to know Betty, I wasn't surprised to hear that this was one of her many accolades.

Betty became a very good friend and we enjoyed dining out, going to the movies and attending theater performances. She was an excellent bridge player, but also had the patience to teach the finer points of bridge to the newer bridge players in our group.

She loved telling stories about her family and was very proud of them. Our deepest condolences to you all. She will be missed.

Gene and I were married about a year when I met Betty and her siblings. We celebrated many holidays in Cushing, Oklahoma after Gene finished his 4 years in the U.S. Navy and was in college. Betty was always a very sweet and pleasant girl. She had the determination to complete her education, and she accomplished all she set out to do. We were very proud and pleased with her success. Our sincere sympathy for her family. I know she will be missed.

I am so sorry to learn of Betty's passing. I enjoyed our visits when she came to Oklahoma. I was able to visit her home once. She made a wonderful lasagna! I will miss her smile.
