Dolores M. Smith, 84, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born May 17, 1932, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Ruth (Slothour) Hoffheins. She was the loving wife of the late Russell B. Smith, Jr., who died January 22, 1985.
Dolores was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hanover, PA.
Dolores was the manager of the High’s Convenience Store on Broadway in Hanover until retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Hanover Y.W.C.A.
Dolores loved spending time with her family.
Dolores is survived by her children, Allan R. Smith, Sr. and wife, Nancy of Manchester, MD, Ruth L. Shaffer and husband, Randy of Hanover, PA; nine grandchildren, Patrick Cooper, Douglas Cooper and wife Tami, Brianna Crooks and husband Jacob, Brandon Shaffer and wife Amber, Allan Smith, Jr., Brian Stewart and wife Tiny, Brenda Mummert and husband Todd, Cheryl Rohrbaugh and husband Adam, Cynthia Stem and husband Bill; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Hoffheins of Hanover, PA. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan M. Cooper, and one brother, Darrell Hoffheins.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Dolores’s life will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, January 13, 2017 and from 10 -11 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the funeral home.
Serving as casketbearers will be Patrick Cooper, Douglas Cooper, Allan Smith, Jr., Brandon Shaffer, Cheryl Rohrbaugh, and Jacob Crooks.
