George E. Hoffer Sr., 66, of New Oxford, PA, entered God’s Eternal Care Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center, Hanover, PA. 

Born December 10, 1950 in Mayberry, MD, he was the son of the late Homer Hoffer and Bessie E. (Winter) Eckard.  He was the step son of the late Nevah W. Eckard.

George was the loving father of George E. Hoffer, Jr., Michael J. Hoffer and Amanda J. (Hoffer) Leathery.  He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Cierra Leathery, Shelby Leathery, and Ashton Leathery.

George served his country in Vietnam and retired after many years as a sheet metal worker.

His children want to honor him by saying he was the best father and grandfather anyone could ask for.  His family was his greatest joy.  He was a great man who worked hard his whole life, and he would do anything to help someone in need.

At his request, there will be no service.
